somehow, somewhere in my life, there was a 180degree turn in my interest in subjects. from a person who detests chemistry and loves physics in 2008, to a person who loves chemistry and hates physics in 2009. im so out of phase with my old self (physics terms, bear with me. physics paper tmr)
and now, instead of being a physics teacher, i want to be a chemistry teacher >.> hmm. need to do a reality check on myself soon.

Day of SCIENCE!
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
;10:27 PM
As once said by a famous teacher in IJC :"You must respond with awe and wonderment!"
So i shall! WOWW!!! SO SIAN!!!
bleah. what do you expect for a long day of 8am-6pm in school, just for chemistry and physics? total K.O!
Went to school earlier because 西瓜 didn't do her chemistry and needed "reference", hence the 8am, for those who are wondering why i was in school 1 hour early.
Next, the horror began! the air-con wasn't working -.- stuffy, hot, deprived of oxygen, unable to think, yea that sums it up just nice. at least there wasn't anything that needed much attention...
went to KPT (the kopitiam's name. lol) to buy food with 4 of the guys, then 6 ppl joined in, then 2 more came along. machiam class outing sial. @.@ chicken liver is niicceeee
Physics was the real killer... on and on, almost non stop information barrage. for those who do not know physics, here's a picture.

honestly, the most torturing part of the afternoon was the "waiting for classmates to finish writing on the board". excruciating and agonizing does not fully justify the pain we went through. hahhas =x
okay maybe too extreme langauge. bleah

shit load of pictures coming =x okie not that many, but its the first time i posted so many in a single post, mainly because i didnt update the whole week. bleah

most of the past week ended at this time, meaning that i go home even later... bleah
block test has started, and i swear that CLB block test was the greatest joke in history. almost no one took the exam seriously. we were laughing and joking, guys were throwing paper around, tying strings tgt to making fishing rods, me revising my chem (yea hail the mugger) ...

lolol, ethanal + [Ag(NH3)2]+ = silver mirror! so cool. took us a few tries before we finally realised what we did wrong. i mis understood "just dissolved ppt" as "just appearing ppt". *faints*
went to the uni open houses yesterday. was quite boring, but i learned something. never did i thought that NUS had a PhD program. 8 years straight planned out already, assuming i'll do well in uni. right now im considering to take 2 majors, but i cant decide on which. faculty of science NUS is for sure, but its not easy. physics and applied physics/astrophysics/chemistry/organic chemistry. lololol *kills self*

NUS 8 year PhD program. Cant see shit, but yea, that's my goal.

NTU campus. The exhibition for NTU is much better, not to mention the freebies. lol

mehhh design, but the inside is almost like a crumpler. wheee~ hahhas

food bites~
Boon Lay's Eat24Hrs small shop has some beautifully expensive yet nice noodles. its super out of the way for me, but since i was there for the NTU open house, and i would most likely never pass by there again, i gave it a shot. worth every cent (430 cents btw)

also, tried this at swensen's. the mega burger is super worth the price of 13.90. look at how thick it is >.> *mouth waters all over again*

ok last one was crap. doesnt matter ... lalalas. toodles

week 9 term 1.

;4:41 PM
eventful week ! some picktures, some explanations. lalalas
by eventful, i dont mean really eventful. ivan and andika shall now explain what i meant by that

hahhas okays its not that bad...
3 things worth mentioning i guess.
ichi) china scholars
dos) star lab
three) A lvls results release.
1 >>> from last monday to next friday i think, we will have 2 scholars from china who will be studying with us to "gain experience" about the studying life in singapore. its not easy for them to attend classes which are conducted in english, but they try. the girl does anyway. the guy does the same thing as ivan and andika. =x
not very easy communicating with them either. the difference in our accents is quite big, and singaporean chinese can be considered to be lousy compared to their standard of chinese, hahhas. suprisingly, the girl says that 我的华文很好啊! omg? LOLLOL. i think its only because she understands my "accent", as i try to tweak it to sound like their way of speech and innunciation. still, i cant understand her very well. hahahhahahs
2 >>> well, the trip to the star lab is fun and educational, to a certain extent...
polaroid glass, iron fillings in oil, laser that almost blinded justina, diffraction grating, and this little baby for superposition. took a few tries to light up, thanks to my suggestion for making it light up at all, it was cool~ the change in the frequency sounded through the tube made the fire jump and squirm, and making a continuous wave form. not really observable through this lousy picture.

3 >>> and of course, the A lvl results release. the class went to the hall for the mother tongue results release, and i followed out of my curiosity. amazingly, we had 100% pass, and a 57.1% A/B rate. from the pic below, u can see warren's estatic face when he found out his A, and the girl china scholar in our class. (she's quite obvious, not wearing out uniform. lol)
grats to all who did well and above expectations :D

followed by a bigger event. its weird to see everyone not in the uniform, all in the hall, sitting down as if they are still students (technically they still are).
1st reaction > omg the 2007 cohort was so small?
2nd reaction > omg our 2008 cohort was that HUGE?
3rd reaction > panic attack for the results. mostly because if the seniors did well, we may get a day off. almost unexpectedly, the cohort did well, improving in pass and A/B rate and owning the national average for almost every subject. not sure that we'll get a day off though.
MUST STUDY HARD TO GET THE HONOUR ROLL! 3 As for H2 BABY!
grats to elisa for your ABB :D hope u get into the course u want.
grats to her for BBC. (super unexpected results)

on another unrelated note, i applied to be a GM for AkaiMS. not having high expectations, but bleahh. lol

picture says it all. hahahs
comparing to last year... 2008(left) 2009(right)

obvious changes :
her fringe swapped sides
we didn't forget to get a plastic knife this time
we were mugging during the short celebration
her present is a yellow duckie (which strangely resembles how she looked like during the kota tinggi camp last year where she wore a yellow raincoat) quack~
and a helium hello kitty balloon. we attached it to her bag, and had fun laughing at it and using it to clobber her head. hahhas =x no cream on her face this year though. hahahs

if only busy-ness can be used as an excuse for laziness.
well, it cant really be considered bz cos im just playing lots of games and neglecting everything...
haiz.
i guess its totally my fault, for everytime i cause unnecessary hurt... my sharp tongue and witty responses are to blame, and so is my condescending attitude. bleah.
and thats just one of the reasons why i will never be a good enough guy for any girl.
even after 4 years, i honestly and fully believe that.
well, hope tomorrow will be a fun day. 27/02/09, happy birthday huiping~

Valentine's 09
Friday, February 13, 2009
;9:08 PM
What an eventful day it is today.
Before i stepped into school, already got someone who wanted to give me something for valentine's (thanks mei x33 huggs)
total net gain, 5 sweets, 7 chocs, 1 mamee O.o bleah
supposedly, following the jap mangas, guys are obliged to return gifts to the girls who gave chocs to them during valentine's day on white day (14march). i don't know how much of this is true, but i'll give them something back on monday ^^
as a matter of fact, i gave all the girls in my class 1 piece of Guylian choc alr (Belgium choc, it looks so so nice!)
will elaborate on that later...
OMG what a crazy week has gone past. Every day is a late day, and every time its hell boring.
Who in their right mind would give a lecture in the late evening, knowing fully that our attention spans long died 4-5 hours ago during lunch. How are we supposed to benefit at all from evening lectures when more than 70% of the people are struggling very hard not to sleep? I thought wisdom comes with age, apparently it doesn't apply to everyone.
CCA fair was mehhh. A fair amount of people turned up for cuesport, but no girls. group by group of girls kept going to the rifle range though. *#!%%#@^* should have joined shooting. hahhas.
after that, when i left the school, the frisbee people suddenly were able to have a match. well, not blaming anyone, since i knew that after henry's meeting there definitely will have enough people for a publicity match, but i left anyway. sorry =(

apparently, i still cannot throw a hammer, or throw a pull that is both accurate and powerful enough to reach a long distance. gotta work on it.... roar... when i get my standard disk (thanks alot of henry man) i'll practice my hand off. must get better, and must get people to join innova ultimate. hahas.
and about the Guylian chocs mentioned above, won them in a lame and easy quiz about the recent economic recession during thur's assemly.

a) first
b) second
c) third

end of another week.
Friday, February 6, 2009
;1:11 AM
seriously, JC2 sucks.
for this coming week...
extra geog lecture in the evening, ends whenever the teacher sees fit =.=
chem Arenes test in the evening, ends directly after PE. omg rush!
extra maths lecture in the evening, with 2.5 hours of NOTHING to do before that! omg
sian!
status report. (check here if you missed anything in school)
GP : Finishing Man and Environment. GP timed assignment, pending results.
Maths : Finished Integration tutorials. Moving to Definite Integrals for lecture and tutorial.
Chem : Finished Arenes tutorial. Moving to Halogenoalkanes. Summative test for Alkanes/Alkenes, results pending
Phys : Finished Waves tutorial. Moving to Superposition tutorial. Lecture is midway through Superposition. Summative test for Oscillations/Waves, results pending.
Geog : Finished Development Gap. Midway through NIDL.
CLB : *facepalm*
sianzorx.

points if you can guess who drew this and who he drew. lol =X its an uncanny resemblance to the real person! =X

shoutout to kaijia and corine. heyys your legacy in the cuesport room is still there after a year! no one bothered to wipe the whiteboard AT ALL XP

this is what happens in a CLB class during a compo writing. those who take H1 CL, go on and laugh at the level of vocabulary we are at, and we still dont know how to write those words. i bet a sec 2/3 kid can write most, if not all of this. -.-
oh well, CLB is the most dreaded and most awaited for period for me.
Why?
because its a useless waste of 1.5 hours, and i have 1 hour of nothing before it starts
because its the last period of the week.
Lols

;10:10 PM
Leave Out All the Rest - Linkin Park
I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared
After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here
So if you're asking me
I want you to know
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]
Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you
So if you're asking me
I want you to know
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]
Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
I can't be who you are
First song im doing, and incidentally, my favourite song o.O
really applies to me? i can totally sing this to my gf and every line is the truth. hahas.
only thing is that i dun wanna be gone. =X
school's been okay. kinda boring at times, but hey, its school.
bought a frisbee (1st generation, according to henry), and immediately felt the effects of a lousier disc.
the edges are so rough and sharp and painful -.-
but hey, i feel as though my throwing has improved, somewhat. hahhas.

Friday, January 30, 2009
;10:57 PM
well, this marks the end of week 3 of our year. next monday, the new JC1s will be crowding up the school. i am jealous of them, as orientation is fun =/ i bet alot of the new intake people will be appealing out of IJC though. well, if you got <14 points, and u got into a 20 point JC, what else would you want to do? lol.
still coping well with the workload currently. i still can't do mcclaurin's and integration for nuts. superposition and waves are alright alright, organic chem is great, and geog is just.. =.=
we finally got to see our official GP teacher today. she's funny, and her pregnancy was sure an eventful one (doctor's agenda was the killer). hope she will be a great teacher, and a great help to come.
monday = PE. Evening summative test for physics. WTF. this sucks man. seriously.

cny celeb.
Saturday, January 24, 2009
;12:31 AM
its unbelievably absurd to conduct lessons on the day that is supposedly named as our CNY celebration day. no one even has the energy to do anything. the general mood in the hall was dead (except for some crazy girls at the back). whats the point of forcing us to sit through something so horrible, most of us (if not all) would rather be sleeping at home. so what if it's A lvl year? apparently along with age comes wisdom and intelligence, but also you lose all sense of common sense (i do not expect you to be able to infer or even understand this statement. who cares)
the only thing i deem as semi enjoyable was the hamper making in the class room? class bonding is always fun, added in with the fact that we were almost unsupervised for the hour. music on the speakers, woot~

random arrangement.

end product.
so much tape. lols.
hall performance, talk by principal, talk by vice principal, CO solo performance (cant blame them, they have less than 5 members), and some lion dance. the lion was apparently trying to pick up and throw some oranges on the floor of the stage (which no one could see). i was almost asleep when the lion suddenly spat out 3 oranges at max speed, of which 1 was heading for my head. thank goodness, somehow my reflexes were still functioning. slapped one outta the way just as it reached within 15cm of my face. -.- at least those years spent as a goalie worked out fine. hahahs.

;10:32 PM

check out the jam. typical singaporean behavior is exemplified here.
there was a SMALL accident involving a motor bike. people driving, slowed down to watch.
this is what ended up happening. 3 mins down the road, the jam stretched almost to IJC. -.-
oh well. uber boring day in school. uber long talks here and there, and boring time table today overall. sad case lol...
well since the principal wanted us to blog about how we study, i shall? LOL
well pretty much no one will believe how i study. i study while playing. seriously. my notes are here on the table with my computers (pc AND laptop) on at the same time, one on maple one on onemanga. thats how i study. by enjoying myself. apparently i remember more this way. hehex
stayed back to study, with a english and chinese oriented person today. very stress LOL. keep having to change the language channel in my brain @.@
noticed something near the study area. check out this room.

what, so people chat in there? joke -.-

suddenly the triathlon doesn't seem like a good idea at all.
was considering to join the triathlon that the school announced, but after today's PE, i'm almost against the idea already.
intervals of 400m 1:45 (i kept to this time)
burning cooldown exercises
sit ups (i was still running so i didnt do this)
many many pull ups
not to mention just 1 day ago we had PE already. it hurts so badly now T_T
lol im weak.

mug, mugging, mugged.
Sunday, January 18, 2009
;12:24 AM
rahh. today's roughly the 1st time i went out to SERIOUSLY study for so long. most previous times that were meant for studying, ended up as arcade time and psp rampage (reminiscence of O lvl mugging period appears). finished with alkenes and oscillations ttl... need to study for geog and do the gp thing (totally slipped my mind)
school's been an okay time for now. what the teachers said was totally true though. within this 4 months, syllabus complete, like wth? cant imagine all the make up lectures we need to attend to even have the end in sight. i'll work hard, but who knows how long this enthusiasm will last...
haven't been going out much since the start of school... sorry for those who want to go out with me but got rejected... financial issues and lack of time... cant blame anything but myself though.

committed to this?
Thursday, January 15, 2009
;10:22 PM
weird. i never thought i'd end up so committed to reading mangas suddenly. i just keep bumping into interesting ones and i'd get hooked. im sleeping midnights these few days. its not that bad, considering i've been sleeping at 4-5a.m through the holidays due to this addiction. oh well, i have school. bleagh
even more suprising, is that i'd get hooked to chemistry too... i've went ahead of everyone else (except wk, he's already pretty much done with the syllabus), and finished a tutorial before the lectures even fully began (alkanes). moving on to alkenes this weekend. i've got to get this habit onto my other subjects... else i'd fall out of the pace.
speaking of fall out, fall out boy is coming to singapore! abit of feeling like wanna go listen leh, budden they doing their new album folie a duex, which i'm not very familiar with. oh well. i'd much rather go to the big night out. BUT I MISSED THE TING TINGS already =/ jan 13th =/ awwwwwww.... hahhas too bad for me. schooooool~
